Out for a wander
Today I headed out in an attempt to get some photos of birds to begin my Bird List June – Dec 2026. I had heard rumours from my wife, that there were some owls just down from us, so I decided to take a quick wander around the area to see if I would be lucky enough to spot them.
After 10mins of looking, but giving up hope (there was little hope from the start, as I wasn’t expecting to see anything), I glimpsed something in distance, which looked like a patch of feathers.
After working my way through the long grass and nettles (in my shorts), and through some bushes, occasionally having to backtrack after losing vision of the branch… I was able to glimpse 3 owls. The 2 young owls were sat next to each other, but unfortunately, they had their backs to me.
I found a comfy tree to hide behind, and spent 40mins watching them. Towards the end, one of the young owls dropped down a branch and the other turned to face me, at which point, I was able to grab a few photos.
It wasn’t much of a session capturing other birds for the list, but it was definitely worth the patience.

I was then able to get a couple more birds for my list, which you can see via the link Bird List June – Dec 2026
New photos moving forwards
Moving forwards, I will hopefully be creating a small post, detailing the photos / trips etc I have made within the month.
This will be wildlife, landscapes etc that I have seen, experienced and snapped over the coming months.
Keep you eyes open for future posts coming soon.
